Berks County Girls Basketball: 2026 Commits and College Player Updates

Completing a successful high school basketball career is an accomplishment in itself. Some former Berks County girls basketball players have taken the next step, continuing their careers at the collegiate level.


A handful of seniors from the 2026 class have announced their commitments to continue playing. If you know of a player who is not included below, please use the contact us form on the website to share that information. Let's also check in with former Berks County standouts who are still shooting the orange composite leather ball at a square piece of tempered glass and cylinder orange piece of steel.

Berks County Girls Basketball Seniors

Wilson senior Laura Crocona will continue her career at Kutztown, where she'll suit up for the Division II Golden Bears and head coach Janet Malouf. Crocona averaged 8.6 points per game and hit 43 3-pointers for the Bulldogs this season. She's one of 31 players in Berks history to hit 100 or more career 3s, finishing with 103. The Golden Bears went 19-10 last season, falling to Seton Hill in the PSAC quarterfinals.



Wilson senior Laila Jones has committed to Penn State Harrisburg to play for head coach Ross Patrick at the Division III level. Jones averaged 11.3 ppg and hit 61 3-pointers for the 28-3 Bulldogs. Jones is one of only 38 Berks players to hit 50 or more 3s in a season. Like Crocona, she is one of the 31 players to hit 100 or more career 3s, finishing with 135, in only three season after missing her entire junior season with a torn ACL. The Nittany Lions finished 9-18 last season, winning a United East Tournament game before falling to St. Mary's (Md.) in the quarterfinals.



Twin Valley senior Hailey Kilgore will remain a Raider at Shippensburg, where she'll play both basketball and run track & field at the DII level. Kilgore averaged 17.0 ppg, hit 55 3-pointers, and shot 86.5 percent from the foul line during her senior season, when she became the sixth Twin Valley girl to reach 1,000 career points. Ship went 3-25 last season under longtime head coach Kristy Trn, who will enter her 28th season as head coach in 2026-27.


Exeter senior Lillie Keperling will continue her academic and basketball careers close to home after committing to DIII Alvernia. Keperling averaged 8.5 ppg and was key in Exeter's historic season when they returned to the Berks championship for the first time in 49 years. The Golden Wolves went 13-13 last season under head coach Rayne deMarteleire.


Reading High senior JilliAnn Laws will continue her career at DIII Widener. The senior averaged 9.4 ppg for the Red Knights as they won a county playoff game. The Pride went 21-6 last season under head coach Alisa Kintner, who enters her 24th season in 2026-27.


Past Standouts

James Madison redshirt senior Peyton McDaniel (Twin Valley) was the top player on the Dukes, leading them to a 26-win season, a Sun Belt Conference title, and the NCAA Tournament. McDaniel averaged 18.8 ppg and 7.5 rpg. She was not drafted in the WNBA Draft in April, but is pursuing a professional career in basketball.

Albany freshman Amaya Stewart (Wyomissing) scored 12.2 ppg and grabbed 5.1 rpg, winning the America East Rookie of the Year and Sixth Player of the Year Awards with the Great Danes. Stewart has followed former Albany head coach Colleen Mullen to Rhode Island, which won the Atlantic 10 Conference last season and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Kansas State redshirt freshman Alexis Hess (Fleetwood) played in four games with the Wildcats and has transferred to Sacramento State. Hess sat out the entire 2024-25 season due to knee surgery. K-State finished 19-18 last season. Sacramento State, which plays in the Big Sky Conference, finished 15-18.


Franciscan senior Caroline Reedy (Berks Catholic) played in five games for the Barons, averaging 8.8 ppg and 7.0 rpg. The Barons finished 3-22.


DeSales senior Mackenzie Gordos (Berks Catholic) played in 15 games for the Bulldogs (19-9), averaging 0.6 ppg.


DeSales senior Julia Kowalski (Schuylkill Valley) played in 25 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 1.3 ppg.


Randolph-Macon freshman Madison Langdon (Berks Catholic) played in 19 games for the Yellow Jackets (21-8), averaging 2.8 ppg.


Penn State Berks sophomore Gianna Roberts (Berks Catholic) played in 18 games for the Nittany Lions (4-21), averaging 3.2 ppg.


Penn State Berks freshman McKenzie Tritz (Daniel Boone) played in two games for the Nittany Lions.


Marywood junior Anyah Ortiz (Gov. Mifflin) played in 25 games for the Pacers (14-13) averaging 11.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, and 3.1 apg.

Arcadia sophomore Taylor Koenig (Gov. Mifflin) played in 24 games for the Knights (17-9), averaging 11.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg.


Albright junior Gigi Serrano (Gov. Mifflin) played in 15 games for the Lions (10-15), averaging 8.4 ppg and 6.1 rpg.


Lebanon Valley College sophomore Hailie Edwards (Hamburg) did not appear in a game this season as she is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in September 2025. The Dutchmen went 18-8 as Edwards works her way back to the court.


East Stroudsburg sophomore Olivia Moyer (Brandywine Heights) played in five games for the Warriors (17-12).


Wilkes sophomore Dana Wartzenluft (Brandywine Heights) played in 23 games for the Colonels (5-20).


Montgomery Community College freshman Addison Benner (Brandywine Heights) played in 11 games for the Mustangs (7-7), averaging 9.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 2.1 apg.

Rutgers-Camden freshman Tamyia Collier (Reading High) played in 29 games for the Scarlet Raptors (15-14), averaging 7.4 ppg and 4.9 rpg.


California University of Pennsylvania freshman Yamilex Rodriguez (Reading High) played in nine games for the Vulcans (13-18).


Mansfield senior Amiyah Nguyen (Wilson) played in 28 games for the Mountaineers (4-24), averaging 4.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, and 2.1 apg.


Kutztown freshman Ryanna Hightower-Prentice (Muhlenberg) played in two games for the Golden Bears.
