Izzy Buehler Leads Oley Valley to First District Playoff Win Since 2015 Over Columbia in 3A Quarterfinals
Senior Izzy Buehler scored 15 points and junior Lily Hare added 12 as the No. 3 seed Oley Valley Lynx defeated No. 6 Columbia 51-47 Tuesday night in the District 3 Class 3A quarterfinals in Oley.
The district playoff win is the first since for the Lynx since a 2015 win over Tulpehocken in the 2A classification.
The Berks IV champion Lynx (15-9) advance to face No. 2 Pequea Valley (21-2) in the semifinals Friday at 7:00 in Kinzers.

The second-seeded Braves beat the Lynx 71-40 in early December during the Tulpehocken Tip-off Tournament. More applicable context: The Braves beat Columbia 45-39 on Dec. 17, lost to Exeter 52-34 on Dec. 28, and lost to Manheim Township 42-28 in the Lancaster-Lebanon League playoff semifinals Feb. 8.
On Tuesday, Buehler scored 11 of her 15 in the first half as the Lynx jumped out to a 10-point halftime lead on the Crimson Tide (12-11).
Hare scored six of her 12 in the third quarter to hold of the Tide's run backed by Lexie Droege's six.
Sehrena Finks-Garcia scored 12 of her game-high 19 in the fourth for Colubmia, but Oley held on.
Oley Valley is one of eight Berks schools to win a district championship with Wilson (6), Central Catholic (4), Holy Name (4), Wyomissing (2), Exeter (1), Gov. Mifflin (1), and Muhlenberg (1).
The Lynx captured district gold in 2011 with a 71-62 victory over Lancaster Catholic in the 3A championship.
