Three girls eclipsed 1,000 points last season and only one the season before that: Berks Catholic's Caraline Herb, who is now playing at Chestnut Hill College.
Exeter senior Grace Reedy did it first last season after a 34-point outing in a December victory over Eastern York. Reedy then scored 40 points to break the program record for points in a game in January and ended her career as Exeter's all-time leading scorer (1,403).
Oley Valley senior Morgan Snyder, who is off to Penn State to play field hockey, became the seventh girl in school history to score 1,000 after a 25-point performance against Kutztown in February. She finished her career with 1,059 points.
Wyomissing rising senior Amaya Stewart was the third to reach the mark last season — on her birthday in January nonetheless — and finished the year with 1,339.
Stewart has a real shot at becoming the seventh girl in Berks County history to reach 2K; she scored 623 total points as a junior.
Who is in position to reach the mark this year?
Brandywine Heights rising senior Addison Benner is next in line behind Stewart with 980 career points.
Berks Catholic rising senior Madison Langdon follows Benner with 869.
Wilson rising junior Laila Jones has 788, Reading High rising senior Yamilex Rodriguez 661, Wyomissing rising senior Alexis Hardy 582, Berks Catholic rising senior Sydney Corado 560.
No other players have over 500, but there are a few still in good position to reach 1K by the end of their careers.
Twin Valley rising junior Hailey Kilgore sits at 490, Berks Catholic (formerly Daniel Boone) rising junior Liv Welker at 415, Wilson rising junior Violet Houck at 400, and Gov. Mifflin rising sophomore Bella Super at 300.
Overall, 141 girls have scored 1,000 or more points in Berks girls basketball history.
Daniel Boone's Wendy Davis is the county's all-time leading scorer with 2,504 points.
Wilson has the most 1,000-point scorers with 13 followed by Reading High (12), Gov. Mifflin (11), and Daniel Boone (10).
