When Zena Edwards Lutz graduated from Hamburg in 1985, she was Berks County's all-time leading scorer with 2,231 career points. She accomplished the feat before the 3-point line and while playing with the larger boys basketball. More than 40 years later, she still ranks third in county history and remains the Hawks' all-time leading scorer by a wide margin.

Berks Bests: Addison Benner Did the Math, Then Made History
Addison Benner knew she wanted to become Brandywine Heights' all-time leading scorer long before she entered high school. After doing the math in seventh grade, she set out to make it happen. Despite overcoming a rare autoimmune condition that left her with limited vision in her left eye, Benner scored 1,282 career points, became the Bullets' all-time leading scorer, and finished 53rd on Berks County's all-time scoring list.
