Laila Jones, Elyssa Sellers, Laura Crocona Lead Team Red Past Team Blue in Berks County Girls Basketball Senior All-Star Game

Wilson senior Laila Jones scored 15 points, Schuylkill Valley senior Elyssa Sellers added 14, and Wilson senior Laura Crocona had 12 to lead Team Red to a 69-54 win over Team Blue Sunday afternoon in the annual Berks County girls basketball senior all-star game at Conrad Weiser High School in Robesonia.


Team Red outscored Team Blue 39-28 in the first half. Each half was played with a running clock.


Jones knocked down three 3-pointers to pace Team Red offensively, while Crocona hit two 3s. Each will be continue their careers at the next level as Jones heads to Penn State Harrisburg and Crocona to Kutztown.


Wyomissing seniors Izzy Campbell and Ella Anders each connected twice from beyond the arc, finishing with eight and six points, respectively.

Hamburg senior Kyla Rogers contributed eight points, and Schuylkill Valley’s Amelia Falsone and Oley Valley’s Lily Hare added four and two points.


Reading High senior Mekhira Gaskins led Team Blue with 13 points, while Daniel Boone senior Grace Glass added 12. Exeter senior Chayse Flood scored eight points, and Reading High senior Nayara Ortega finished with seven.


Ayana Freese had six points and JilliAnn Laws added four points for Team Blue, while Jessica Parrott and Lillie Keperling scored two apiece.


Team Red was coached by Schuylkill Valley head coach Jason Bagenstose, while Team Blue was coached by Wyomissing head coach Aaron Anders.


The annual event celebrates graduating seniors from across Berks County following the conclusion of the high school season.


The All-Berks selections were also recognized during the event with Jones, Sellers, Twin Valley senior Hailey Kilgore, Wilson junior and Player of the Year Kailani Hardy, Exeter sophomore Addison Harper, and Reading High sophomore Xiani Beatty receiving plaques.


Oley Valley senior Ava Walters was awarded the Catherine Rhodes Memorial Award by the 3 Point Goal Association President Jean Frey following the game, recognizing her play on the court and dedicated hours of volunteer work off the court.


Last year, Wyomissing's Amaya Stewart scored a game-high 28 points and Berks Catholic's Sydney Corado had 19 with five 3s as Team Red beat Team Blue 81-76.
