The final stretch of Berks Girls League play begins next week as we are past the halfway point. The Berks I, Berks III, and Berks IV leaders have remained all season. Last week, the Berks II leader changed for the first time.
Other teams have gotten hot and put themselves in position to challenge for BCIAA and District 3 playoff berths. The Berks girls basketball playoff picture is beginning to clear up. So, who will make it?
The BCIAA quarterfinals are February 7th at the higher seed, semifinals February 11th at Santander Arena, and final February 13th at Santander Arena.
The District 3 playoff field will be announced on February 13th and the first rounds begin February 16th (3A, 4A, and 6A) and February 17th (1A and 5A). The 2A tournament begins with the semifinals on February 20th.

Reminder on the BCIAA playoff structure, which includes eight qualifiers (seeded based on District 3 power ranking):
The four division winners get in.
The Berks I or Berks II runner-up gets a bid based on head-to-head winner in the teams' crossover game.
The Berks III or Berks IV runner-up gets a bid based on head-to-head winner in the teams' crossover game.
Two wild-card teams get a bid based on highest district power ranking.

As of January 16, 2026, the division leaders are: Wilson (.789 power rating) in Berks I, Exeter (.664) in Berks II, Schuylkill Valley (.586) in Berks III, Oley Valley (.522) in Berks IV.
The current runners-up in Berks I and II are Gov. Mifflin (.697) and Twin Valley (.529), which play each other on January 29th. We'll give the Mustangs the bid for this scenario since they have a higher power rating.
The current runners-up in Berks III and IV are Wyomissing (.442) and Kutztown (.517). The Spartans lost to the Cougars 45-29 on December 17th. Interestingly, the Spartans picked up an important win over Oley Valley last week. Something to watch. Again, we'll give the nod to the Cougars here based on their higher power ranking.
That leaves two wild-card spots, which, as of January 16th, would go to defending champion Reading High (.619) and Berks Catholic (.531) with Twin Valley, Conrad Weiser (.496), and Wyomissing (.442) being the first three out.
The bracket would look like this:
No. 1 Wilson vs. No. 8 Kutztown
No. 2 Gov. Mifflin vs. No. 7 Oley Valley
No. 3 Exeter vs. No. 6 Berks Catholic
No. 4 Reading High vs. No. 5 Schuylkill Valley
District 3 Picture

Here are the current rankings for the 18 Berks teams as of Jan. 16:
