As AAU season ramps up and summer basketball approaches, three Berks County girls basketball programs have head coach openings ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Antietam, Daniel Boone, and Twin Valley have each opened head coaching positions according to public school board meeting minutes, district websites, and confirmation from the former coaches.

The openings come at different stages for each program. Twin Valley recently returned to Berks II contention, qualifying for the county playoffs the past two seasons and reaching the District 3 playoffs in 2025. Daniel Boone and Antietam are both attempting to rebuild after several difficult seasons.
The timing is also notable with summer leagues, open gyms, and offseason workouts approaching. New coaches often use the summer months to install systems, build relationships, and evaluate players before official practices begin in November.
Antietam former head coach Jamie Harle was asked to reapply for the role after Athletic Director Christian Murray reopened the position. Harle confirmed she reapplied.
Harle went 3-38 in two seasons leading the Mounts. Antietam improved from one win to three in Harle’s first season before going winless last year, finishing 0-12 in Berks IV and 0-20 overall.

The Mounts have faced several challenges in recent years. Antietam canceled its girls basketball season during the COVID-19 pandemic and suffered severe flood damage to the school and gymnasium in 2023. The program has not reached the District 3 playoffs since 2019 and last won a district playoff game in 2012.
Despite recent struggles and low roster numbers, Antietam is expected to return leading scorer Asahnti Dotson, who averaged 7.9 points per game as a freshman last season.
Daniel Boone former head coach Kyle Osenbach resigned from the position effective April 30, as reflected in the May 4 school board minutes and confirmed by Osenbach via text.
Osenbach replaced Matt Bowe, who stepped down as head coach after three seasons, last year. Bowe replaced Kyle Tranovich after three seasons.
Osenbach went 3-18 in one season with the Blazers, including a 1-10 Berks II record. Daniel Boone has struggled to regain consistency in recent years, winning just 12 games over the past four seasons.
The Blazers, however, have deep roots in Berks girls basketball history and were once among the county’s premier programs. Boone has not reached the BCIAA playoffs since 2015 and last won a District 3 playoff game in 2012.

Daniel Boone graduated its top two scorers from last season in Jessica Parrott (9.3 ppg) and Grace Glass (7.2 ppg).
Twin Valley opted not to retain Matt Hahn after two seasons despite the Raiders winning the Berks II championship and qualifying for the District 3 playoffs during his tenure. Hahn said the move was surprising when contacted last week.
“A bit disappointed, but hoping to find a new opportunity somewhere else,” Hahn said.
Hahn compiled a 28-32 overall record in two seasons, including a 4-9 record as a co-head coach in the 2023-24 season and a 14-10 campaign and Berks II title in 2024-25. Last season, Twin Valley went 6-5 in Berks II and 10-13 overall as Exeter regained control of the division and advanced to the BCIAA championship game.
The Raiders reached the PIAA Tournament five times between 2017 and 2022, four times under former coach Mark Marrow and once under Doug Myer. The only year the Raiders didn't qualify was 2021, when only district champions made it due to COVID.
They returned to districts in Hahn’s first season as full-time head coach. (Hahn and Deana Gorgone served as co-head coaches after Myer's midseason departure.) Twin Valley last won a District 3 playoff game in 2022 in Myer's first full season. The Raiders made it to their first District 3 championship behind Morrow and Peyton McDaniel in 2020, falling to Gettysburg.
Twin Valley graduates two-time All-Berks senior Hailey Kilgore, a 1,000-point scorer and one of the county’s top players who averaged 17 ppg last season. The Raiders are expected to return all-division rising senior guard Lauren Williams and all-division rising junior forward Olivia Kilgore — Hailey's younger sister — next season.
