For four years, Wyomissing’s Amaya Stewart has been rewriting the record book. Now, she’s made history once more.
This time, across the entire state.
Stewart, a 6-1 senior center committed to Albany, has been named to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters All-State Girls Basketball First Team in Class 4A for the third straight season, becoming the first player in Berks County girls basketball history to earn first-team honors three years in a row.

Joining her on the All-State list is Gov. Mifflin sophomore Bella Super, who was named to the Class 6A third team after a breakout campaign that saw her lead the Mustangs to a Berks championship appearance.
They are the only two players from Berks County named to this year’s All-State teams.
“This is a result of Amaya’s hard work and love for the game,” said Wyomissing head coach Aaron Anders. “She truly loves learning the ins and outs of basketball — and she’s nowhere near her ceiling. I just can’t wait to see her continue to grow and develop at the next level. She’ll only get better and better every day.”
Stewart wrapped up a historic career as Wyomissing’s all-time leading scorer, finishing with 1,904 career points.

She averaged 19.5 points per game this season, leading the Spartans to their third straight District 3 championship — a first in Berks girls basketball history — and a trip to the second round of the PIAA Class 4A playoffs.
Last year, Stewart shared All-State honors with Exeter’s Grace Reedy, who graduated as the Eagles’ all-time leading scorer.
This year, the All-State spotlight shines on Super, who stepped into a leadership role and improved in every aspect of the game.
She averaged 19.3 points per game and led the Mustangs to the Berks championship, where they fell to Reading High. Super had 28 points in the final and 25 in the semifinals, where the Mustangs defeated Wilson.
She becomes the first Mifflin player to earn All-State recognition since Emily Gingrich in 2013 and Ashley Espinosa in 2012 and 2011.
“I could see this happening,” said Gov. Mifflin head coach Mike Clark. “Bella is one of the best all-around players I’ve ever coached. If we needed her to score, she scored. If we needed her to rebound, she rebounded. If we needed her to bring the ball up or make the right decision, she did that, too. Congratulations to Bella — this is just the beginning.”
The 5-7 guard is already at 801 career points.
Super will be playing AAU ball on the Under Armour circuit for Western PA Bruins this offseason.
While Stewart's next chapter will be at the Division I level with Albany, Super’s story is still unfolding. And it’ll be one worth following closely.
