Hamburg Junior Norah Davey Selected BerksGirlsBasketball.com Player of the Week

Norah Davey, a 5-8 junior forward, scored 20 points in a victory over Fleetwood and 10 points in a win over Annville-Cleona last week for the Hawks, earning her the BerksGirlsBasketball.com Player of the Week.

"Norah is an outstanding athlete and a strong, steady presence on the floor—both through her play and her leadership," Hamburg head coach Aly McBreen said. "She is tough, relentless, and gives full effort every single moment, with the ability to completely take over a game.

"Her dedication shows in the extra time she puts in, arriving early to shoot before every game, and her winning attitude is contagious.

"Beyond basketball, Norah is an exceptional student and an even better person. Her lighthearted personality and positive attitude brighten each day. I am incredibly proud of her and excited to watch her continue to grow and improve this season."

Each week, BGB will select a Player of the Week with input from Berks Girls League coaches and our staff.

This season, the selected player will be featured on billboards in central Berks County and in the area of that player's school district, courtesy of Lamar Advertising. Keep an eye out for the billboards featuring Davey throughout the week.

Davey, also a standout softball player, is averaging a team-high 9.9 points per game.

This is the first Player of the Week selection for Davey. She is the second Hamburg player ever selected, following Amelia Gassert's selection in the 2022-23 season.

Player of the Week was initially awarded by Mike Drago Sports, where Berks girls basketball coverage was previously provided from 2022-24.

Players considered for Player of the Week honors are nominated by their coach, an opposing Berks coach, and/or by members of the BerksGirlsBasketball.com coverage team.
