Geniva Paul, a 5-10 junior forward, scored 18 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and swatted three shots in an overtime win over Oley Valley last week for Conrad Weiser, earning her the BerksGirlsBasketball.com Player of the Week.

"Geniva is the type of player who can be a difference maker," Conrad Weiser head coach Chris Kline said. "We run a lot of what we do offensively through her. Most teams recognize this and try to take that away, which has opened things up for other players.

"Her athleticism is something we try to use to our advantage on the defensive end and then look to turn defense into offense. She has a skill set that allows us to use her both on the perimeter and inside."

Each week, BGB will select a Player of the Week with input from Berks Girls League coaches and our staff.

This season, the selected player will be featured on billboards in central Berks County and in the area of that player's school district, courtesy of Lamar Advertising. Keep an eye out for the billboards featuring Paul throughout the week.

Paul, an all-division honorable mention pick as a sophomore last season, is averaging a team-high 14.3 points per game.

The scoring average is No. 4 in Berks, trailing only Gov. Mifflin's Bella Super, Twin Valley's Hailey Kilgore, and Exeter's Addison Harper.

Last season, Paul averaged 8.5 ppg as the Scouts qualified for the PIAA state playoffs for the first time since 2016.

This is the first Player of the Week selection for Paul and for Conrad Weiser overall.

Player of the Week was initially awarded by Mike Drago Sports, where Berks girls basketball coverage was previously provided from 2022-24.
