Jones played in only 18 minutes in the win over Berks Catholic, also tallying three rebounds, four assists, and a block. In the game against Exeter, she had 21 points, five assists, three rebounds, and a steal.

Jones reached her 1,000th point of her career on a step-back 3-pointer with 4:20 left in the first quarter against the Eagles. She completed the feat in less than three seasons after missing her entire junior year with a torn ACL.

"Laila had a momentous week scoring her 1,000th career point while leading our team to two victories," Wilson head coach Matt Raquet said. "She is a great player, leader, and proven winner and someone her teammates and coaches trust every night."

With Jones back in the lineup, the Bulldogs are off to a 9-0 start in league play and 16-2 start overall. Wilson has won six in a row as Jones leads the team in scoring at 12.7 points per game with 42 3s.

Jones was an All-Berks selection her freshman and sophomore seasons.

This season, the selected player will be featured on billboards in central Berks County and in the area of that player's school district, courtesy of Lamar Advertising. Keep an eye out for the billboards featuring Jones throughout the week.

Jones won the award in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, her fellow senior classmate Violet Houck also won it in 2023-24, and junior Kailani Hardy won it last season.

Player of the Week was initially awarded by Mike Drago Sports, where Berks girls basketball coverage was previously provided from 2022-24.

Players considered for Player of the Week honors are nominated by their coach, an opposing Berks coach, and/or by members of the BerksGirlsBasketball.com coverage team.
