Ryan Leaman, a 5-9 junior guard, had 10 points including the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime in Wilson's 42-37 victory over Dallastown in the District 3 Class 6A championship and 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the Bulldogs' 50-42 victory over Red Lion in the district semifinals last week, earning her the BerksGirlsBasketball.com Player of the Week.

Leaman drilled a 3-pointer to give Wilson a 40-37 lead with 1:43 left in overtime of the District 3 championship.

In the semifinals against top-seeded Red Lion, Leaman had eight of her team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs outscored the Lions by four points to come away with the eight-point victory.

The Bulldogs (27-2) will host District 1 11th-place Conestoga on Friday at 7 p.m. in the PIAA tournament.

Leaman, a North Carolina lacrosse commit, has averaged 7.5 points per game for the Bulldogs and knocked down 31 3s. She shined when the lights were brightest.

“Ryan’s performance this week can be summed up in one word: Clutch," Wilson head coach Matt Raquet said. "She’s stepped up during the biggest moments and it has been an absolute joy to watch.”

Leaman has built on the increased scoring and ball handling duties she received last season when she filled in for starting point guard Laila Jones, who missed the season with an injury.

She scored 7.5 ppg and hit 36 3s as a sophomore, significant increases from the 2.2 ppg and 13 3s she contributed as a freshman.

This is the first Player of the Week selection for Leaman and seventh overall for Wilson.

Laila Jones was selected in 2022-23 and in 2023-24. Violet Houck was also selected in 2023-24. Kailani Hardy was selected in 2024-25. Along with Leaman, Laura Crocona, Jones, and Hardy were also selected this season.

This season, the Player of the Week will be featured on billboards in central Berks County and in the area of that player's school district, courtesy of Lamar Advertising. Keep an eye out for the billboards featuring Leaman throughout the week.
